Hey there! My name’s Greg.
I’m your LYH native violin and viola teacher who’s obsessed with vegan food, coffee, yoga, and the Suzuki method!
When I was 5 years old, I began playing the violin through the Lynchburg City Schools Suzuki program. At age 11, I switched to viola. However, I never completely abandoned playing the violin! In 2019, I graduated Cum Laude from James Madison University with a B.M. in viola performance. I played and taught both violin and viola during my time in college.
The reason I continued to make music and never gave up was due to the unending love and support from my parents and teachers.
In 2019, I moved back to Lynchburg and taught in the public schools for 3 years while growing my private Suzuki studio. Now I run my private studio of over 40 students and teach the string chamber ensemble at Virginia Episcopal School. I am the Principal Violist of the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and a Resident Artist with Seven Hills Chamber Music.
Building relationships with each student and watching them grow into wonderful people is the BEST part of my job.
When I’m not teaching, you can find me traveling, practicing yoga, roller blading, or reading a book.
